If you have something to say, silence is a lie
This is why I write, so I don’t have to speak
Feeling keeps me human but writing keeps me alive
Each verse is a wound that’s decided to speak
Each stanza a bandage pretending to be art
Do not look for beauty here, look for graves
Where I have buried many people alive
Because I know they’ll never understand me
It’s amazing how my feet learned to walk backwards
As if desertion was a childhood love affair
That I have never fully moved on from
It’s ironic how loyally I run to it
The boy who swore he would change the world
Now learns to survive the man he’s become
