  • Should’ve Kissed You

She compliments me casually like it’s nothing. It’s like standing in the sun one minute and getting struck by lightning in the next. Sometimes it’s simple. She’ll say “you look good today,” like she’s commenting on the weather. And suddenly I’m tripping over nothing. Other times.. It’s not so simple. One time she whispered in my ear, “you don’t just write about desire, you resurrect it. Someone could wish she was her just reading the way you speak of touch.” How do you recover from that? You don’t.
She told me my voice could “pull secrets out of a locked heart.” She said my gaze felt like “getting caught and rescued at the same time.” Who says things like that?
She once told me in a seductive smile, “you have a face ladies would sin for.” I didn’t know whether to thank her or apologize to God. Her words heal things I didn’t even know were bleeding. And when she catches me fumbling, trying to look composed and failing, she just smiles to herself. Like she knows exactly what she’s doing… Maybe she does.

  • Can We Kiss Forever?

I love it when we whisper
Our vows in the midnight hours,
    When the world is hushed,
    And silence envelops us.
    At times, I feel compelled
    To shout them out loud,
For the entire world to hear,
And to let our love resound.

  • Love at first like

She was afraid to love me at first
I think it probably scared her
She was the type to like things
That were concrete, like the ocean
Something the you could point to
And know exactly what it was
I think that’s why she always struggled
With loving someone, she couldn’t touch it
She couldn’t hold on to it
And be sure it will never change
But I taught her something else
That love doesn’t change, it changes you
Now she’s so proud to say
My love for her has always been true

  • Kiss Me

The first time I saw you
    I just wanted to know
    How to make you laugh
    Then I made you laugh
And I wanted to do it day & night
    There is something about you
That is so authentic and artistic
Something like poetry in how you look
And a muse’s melody in how you love
My heart could shelter you freely
But you wanted it as a colony
You planted your lipstick as a red flag
And I could not resist your rule
I gave you the throne to my air
Because darling, ever since that day
You’ve always taken my breath away
