I asked The LORD that I may grow
In Faith, Hope and Love with every Grace
That I may know more of His Salvation
And seek His face more earnestly
Because it was Him who taught me to pray
And I trusted He’d answer what He told me to say
But it was in such a way I almost gave up
I thought that in some favoured time
The LORD would answer my prayer at once
And subdue my sins and give me rest
With His awesome Love and transforming Power
Instead, God exposed the hidden evils of my heart
And told the Gates of Hell to torment me
In every part of my once innocent soul
“Why LORD? Why this? Why now?” I cried trembling
“Do You want to make sure this kills me?”
“This is the Way,” The LORD replied
“This is how I answer prayers for Grace and for Faith”
The inner trials that I purposefully set in motion
Are to set you free from sin and you
And cross your perverted schemes of pleasure
That you may find out that I AM your all in all.
